At 3’s A Treat, we merge the art of culinary creation with the science of nutrition, to bring healthier, more informed eating habits to communities. As a chef and biologist, I’ve seen firsthand how understanding the chemistry of food can transform the way we approach nourishment, taste, and wellness.
Our mission is to educate and empower individuals of all ages on the science behind what we eat, helping communities, particularly those in food deserts, grow their own nutritious food and take control of their health. Through our three-stage program of community gardening, scientific research, and culinary workshops, we aim to inspire healthier living through both knowledge and hands-on experience.
Food is an expression of creativity. In our kitchen workshops, we teach how to turn simple ingredients into beautiful, nourishing meals. Drawing on my chef’s expertise, we make food both enjoyable and beneficial, encouraging the joy of cooking with a deeper understanding of the nutritional value of every bite.
Food is biology. Every ingredient has a story. Through my work as a biologist, we uncover the chemistry behind food understanding how it affects our bodies, mind, and environment. In our literature-based education, we dive into the research that shows how specific foods contribute to our overall health.
Food is nutrition and we are what we eat. The combination of art and science allows us to craft meals that fuel both body and mind. We empower individuals with the knowledge to make informed decisions, from the garden to the kitchen table, ensuring that what we eat nourishes us physically and emotionally.
